The Chicago Botanic Garden proudly hosts its annual Wellness Day in partnership with Evanston Northwestern Healthcare and sponsored by Prevention Magazine. During the free event, visitors to the Garden can learn how to boost their health and well-being, while picking up new ideas from the experts on the benefits of good nutrition, exercise and stress reduction. Exhibitors will be offering product samples, educational literature and health screenings. Those who attend will also have the opportunity to sample Yoga, Tai Chi and watch chefs give demonstrations on healthy eating. The new Westfield Walkers program, sponsored by Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, launches on Saturday, June 16 from 9am to 10am and takes place every Saturday through September 1, 2007. There will be a kick off celebration which will include program registration, light refreshments and goody bags for the first 50 people to register for the event. As many of you know, the Holocaust Memorial Foundation of Illinois is embarking upon an important campaign to build the new Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center (which will be located on Skokie). Slated to open in 2008, the new center will be a 65,000 square-foot facility dedicated to applying the lessons of the Holocaust to issues of hate, bigotry, and intolerance in our world today. The new museum will reach students, teachers, parents and children throughout Illinois and across the Midwest, educating them about this tragic period in human history and alerting them to the dangers of unchallenged bigotry. The public is invited to learn more when Richard Hirschhaut, Project and Executive Director of the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, presents his keynote address. Northbrook Court Welcomes New Retailers Northbrook Court is pleased to welcome three new stores that are exclusive to Chicago's North Shore. Hanna Andersson, a Swedish-inspired company that makes and sells colorful 100% cotton and organic cotton clothing for the entire family, opened its doors to rave reviews on May 25th. MNG by Mango, a Barcelona, Spain-based fashion retailer, is set to begin construction on a 3,542 square-foot store, which caters to the "Gen-X" female shopper. With trendy fashion designs and accessories, the store is scheduled to open in the summer of 2007. Also opening this summer, is CUSP, a specialty boutique from Neiman Marcus. The 7,226 square-foot store is designed for hip, fashion forward, affluent women ages 21-45. New Kiosks at Tollway Oases Promote Tourism Under the leadership of the Northern Illinois Tourism Development Office (NITDO), the Illinois Tollway, and the Illinois Bureau of Tourism, new Visitor Information Kiosks have been installed at Illinois Tollway Oases throughout the Chicago suburbs and Northern Illinois. This unique partnership enhances travelers' experiences at the frequently visited oases by showcasing some of the wonderful attractions that the region has to offer. Chicago's North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau is thrilled to participate in this program and is prominently featured at the Des Plaines and O'Hare oasis facilities. Not only is the Bureau highlighted on the kiosk itself, but there are also five brochure slots dedicated to attractions in our region. Next on the agenda...8 banners featuring North Shore attractions will be hung in several tollway oases!

Thursday evenings at the Chicago Botanic Garden offer high-energy music on the Esplanade as the perfect lift to get you through the work week. During Hot Summer Nights, unwind and learn a new move or two! Professional dance instructors are on hand during select weeks for a fun, easy-going introduction to the genre of the evening-whether it's Cajun, Latin, swing or country. Throughout the evening, shimmy up to the Garden's refreshment tables to purchase light fare and beverages (including beer, wine and margaritas) reflecting the evening's culture. On concert nights only, you are welcome to enjoy a picnic on the Esplanade! Admission is free. There is no event on June 21.
