The Orchid Show
The Orchid Show
Saturday, February 14 – Sunday, March 15
Chicago Botanic Garden – Regenstein Center
1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe
After a hugely successful launch last year, The Orchid Show is back! Don't miss seeing the Regenstein Center magnificently transformed by more than 10,000 brilliantly beautiful and unusual orchids, all in bloom at once; cascading from archways and climbing up columns. This showcase of unusual and stunning orchids will give visitors the opportunity to learn about one of the largest, most diverse and revered flowering plant families. This year, visitors will encounter a very exotic bloom. Vanilla, the world's most popular flavoring, comes from Vanilla Planifolia, the only orchid of roughly 30,000 known species to have agricultural value. The show will trace the history of vanilla from its origins and will depict the vanilla-making process from blossom to bottle. For more information, click here.
