Hizzoner, Daley the First Returns - Jan. 31 - Feb. 10
Returning after a sold-out summer engagement, Hissoner chronicles Mayor Richard J. Daley (1902 - 1976), authoritarian politician, family man and dynasty builder, whose life was inextricably bound to Chicago, the city he loved. Hizzoner offers up personalities who worked with Daley and some - like Jesse Jackson - with whom he had a crucial crossing of paths. There is also a glimpse into how "Da Mare" may have seen himself.

Down to Earth Gardening
Full Day Symposium - Jan. 31
The Chicago Botanic Garden, in collaboration with Horticulture magazine, presents a garden design symposium called Down to Earth Gardening. Nan Sinton, Horticulture's director of programs, will lead the day's activities and introduce the speakers who will talk about gardening smarter, problem solving and going green with the best new plants. They will also share their expertise regarding various plants and design, while offering gardening tips and secrets for success. Cost to attend is $129, which includes lunch.
Festival of Maps: Chicago - Rare Maps: Journeys of Plant Explorers -
Through Feb. 10
This exhibition allows visitors to enter the age of plant exploration through the pages of beautiful maps found in the Library's Rare Book Collection, which holds approximately 3,000 titles from the 15th to the 19th centuries.

Adventures with Clifford The Big Red Dog lets families explore the world of Clifford, Emily Elizabeth, and all of their friends, and learn valuable life lessons while they're at it. Board the Birdwell Island ferry and chart a course for hours of fun and learning as you work together to crank giant bones into Clifford's bowl, crawl through tunnels in Cleo's Backyard, and even slide down the tail of a 9-foot tall Clifford!

Space, Color, and Motion - Jan. 18-April 6
This groundbreaking new exhibition examines the intersection of digital technology and the graphic arts. Imaging by Numbers surveys the use of computers in printmaking and drawing through approximately 60 works created by nearly 40 North American and European artists from the 1950s to the present.

Foundations of Evanston: A Close Examination of the Underpinnings of the Community - Through July
The exhibit focuses exclusively on undergarments worn by men, women, and children from the 19th and 20th centuries. Most costume exhibits focus on garments that are meant to be seen by others and present an image of self, chosen by the wearer. This exhibit turns its attention to what lies under that outward image.
